Food Intolerance: What Are The Causes?

by Robert Harrison

Harsh reactions to food and food additives is cause for food intolerance. When the body's immune system or defense system is directly involved this causes immediate reactions and severe food allergies.

There are lots of doctors who decide to make use of the expression food bigotry just for unwanted reactions to food where the human body's resistant device is not involved. Generally allergy tests are recommended to see whether a human being is pain from this. Exhaustion also sets in when people pain from food bigotry.

Every person reacts differently to food products and their related additives. Beyond the simple immunological allergic reaction, many people are simply unable to deal with specific chemicals. Most frequently, these chemicals are introduced in the growing, processing, harvesting or storage stage. However, sometimes people can have a strong negative reaction to sugars, carbohydrates and other naturally occurring substances.

These are at times unsafe. In certain cases such contaminants may make your food toxic and any person who eats them will experience health hazards. Now there are another set of people who do not have the enzymes required to digest certain foods. Their problems are less obvious compared to the other risks.

Lactose intolerance is a familiar instance. There are those people whose bodies cannot digest milk because they lack the enzyme called lactose, which is needed to absorb the sugar lactose in milk. Most of us have levels high in this enzyme so we can tolerate milk and not have unpleasant side effects.

There is a type of food intolerance that is not characterized by an allergic reaction, but is actually caused by naturally occurring compounds that can be present in food and which can have a detrimental effect on various body systems, such as the endocrine gland system. These reactions mimic allergic reactions and are easy to mistake as a food allergy.

There are varied things which come low the nutrient additives assemblage. They permit substances like preservatives, flavoring agents, coloring agents etc. Whatsoever known examples include tartrazine, MSG or monosodium glutamate, sulphur dioxide as fit as benzoates. When chemical reactions are embroiled with attitude to food or matter additives, they are not actually supersensitive reactions since here the embody's insusceptible system is not involved.

Food intolerance is when you react badly to food while food allergy directly involves the immune system. Doctors often relate this chronic fatique syndrome due to the poorly understood nature of this situation. There are numerous dissimilar kinds of non-immune responses to food. Allergy tests are used to detect allergens. Common cases are unmixed toxicity. Another involves people who lack enzymes required to digest certain foods, example: lactose intolerance. Another type comes from negative reactions to chemicals found in food. Food additives include many types of chemicals. When they're involved in chemical reactions in the body, it's not technically allergic reactions since it doesn't involve the immune system.
